A Little Story from Home
This preserve is named after Burley Crest in Downend, where my nan lived.
She grew strawberries and rhubarb in her garden, with the rhubarb tucked inside an old chimney pot, which was the proper way to do it back then. Those simple ingredients, gathered from her garden, became some of my fondest childhood memories.
Every jar is a small nod to those days and to a woman who taught me that the best food comes from patience, care, and a well-tended patch of earth.
